SALTHOUSE PLACE has been long listed by the Center for Fiction for the 2023 First Novel Prize!

I am very excited (and happily surprised!) to announce that SALTHOUSE PLACE has been placed on the longest for the The Center for Fiction 2023 First Novel Prize!

Some of the names on the list are so amazing, I can’t believe I am in their company!

According to the Center for Fictions website, “The twenty-five debut novels were selected from over 160 submitted titles with U.S. publication dates between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2023.

The First Novel Prize, first awarded in 2006, was created to honor the best debut fiction of the year. The winner receives a $15,000 prize and each of the other shortlisted authors receives $1,000. The shortlisted titles will be announced this fall, and the winner will be announced on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at The Center for Fiction Annual Awards Benefit.

Over 100 volunteer readers chosen from The Center’s diverse community of writers, booksellers, librarians, members, and staff determined the longlist. From these recommended titles, a judging panel of four distinguished authors—to be announced—will choose the shortlist and the winner.”

Looking forward with fingers crossed to fall!
